MESSAGING SYSTEMS 

SRC's Messaging Systems group provides Life Cycle Development support for all Navy Tactical Messaging Afloat applications, including the Naval Modular Automated Communications System II (NAVMACS II), the Submarine Single Message Solution, and Defense Message System  tactical deployment applications.  SRC supports SSC-C NAVMACS II Software Support Activity and In-Service Engineering Activity providing software development, systems engineering, integration, documentation, configuration management, quality assurance testing, and training. 

Since its initial deployment in 1992, and subsequent installation on all major Navy and Coast Guard afloat platforms, SRC has continued to build improvements into the system, with emphasis on security updates, user interface, and foot-print reduction. SRC maintains the legacy NAVMACS II software code, while porting the application to the LINUX operating system. SRC is responsible for manning the NAVMACS Help Desk providing 7/24 fleet support, shipboard and shore based training, in-house product testing, and shipboard installation services.
