 SRC’s Earth Sciences Group (ESG)
provides expertise for strategic planning and development for government and private sector business opportunities and
focuses on issues that have national and global implications ranging from human health to national security. The
ESG is an extension of SRC’s global science and engineering activities including major support of the National Science
Foundation and climate related work in Antarctica. The ESG supports NOAA’s National Climatic Data Center (NCDC) and other
government organizations to help develop strategies to meet the increased demands for climate data and information. New
technologies and sensors are creating an exponential growth in the amount of climate data. These data, stored at NCDC,
will be used by scientists around the world to determine climate change trends and will enhance climate prediction models.
