Message from the CEO
“While less than 10% of the U.S. population has served in the military, it is worth noting that approximately 40% of the SRC team is composed of veterans. I would like to extend my personal thanks to all of you for your service to our country. Your sense of duty continues through your service at SRC, for which we are deeply grateful. As we honor those who have served, we likewise remain committed to those still in uniform. To them, we owe the full measure of our talent, dedication and commitment.”

VETERAN RECOGNITION
MilitaryTimes Best for Vets
MilitaryTimes announced the Best for Vets Employer rankings recognizing employers who demonstrate their commitment to U.S. veterans. They also provide veterans with a trusted list of the top employers for their consideration.
SRC is proud to be included on this list for two years in a row – 2022 and 2023. The ranking highlights the different employment practices, policies, and services that companies provide to U.S. veterans. In 2023, SRC advanced in several categories with a final ranking of 10 among Defense employers, 13 for medium enterprises, and 4 for a company based in Georgia.
HIRE Vets Medallion Program
The U.S. Department of Labor Veterans’ Employment and Training Service (VETS) announced the Honoring Investments in Recruiting and Employing American Military Veterans Act (HIRE Vets Act) of 2017 directing the establishment of the HIRE Vets Medallion Program. The program recognizes employers that hire and retain veterans, including their efforts to establish employee development programs, and veteran specific benefits to improve retention. The program is a powerful way that companies can signal their investment in veteran careers. SRC was awarded the Gold Medallion In 2019, 2020, and 2021..
Veterans represent approximately 40 out of 100 of SRC employees.
VETS Indexes
VETS Indexes selected SRC as a VETS Indexes 5-Star Employer in 2024. The award analyzes employers’ policies, practices, and outcomes in detail, across the following 5 categories: 1) veteran job candidate recruiting and hiring, 2) veteran employee development and retention, 3) veteran-inclusive policies and culture, 4) support for members of the national guard and reserves, and 5) military spouse/family support.
VETERAN OUTREACH
The Blue Angels Foundation (BAF) is a non-profit arm of the Blue Angels Association whose mission is to support wounded veteran’s initiatives. These wounded veterans who proudly volunteered to serve our nation and preserve our freedoms are the same people today who need our time, treasure and talents to provide a path of transition back to the civilian community and a life of dignity and fulfillment. BAF has identified and are supporting organizations that assist veterans in key areas: transitional housing, counseling, PTSD resolution, permanent housing, life skills, transportation and employment.
Since September 11, 2001 the Department of Defense reports that more than 6,000 service men and women have been killed in action, more than 50,000 have been wounded in action, and another 500,000 suffer from Post-Traumatic Stress and/or Traumatic Brain Injury. Here at home, across this great country, we lose 20 veterans a day to suicide as a result of their service related PTSD and traumatic brain injury. We need to do all we can to reduce and eliminate this tragic loss of life. In this regard, the BAF supports the Research and Recognition Project (RRP). The RRP has developed the PTS(D) Reconsolidation of Traumatic Memories (RTM) Protocol, which is a brief non-traumatizing intervention for the intrusive symptoms of PTSD. It is supported by nearly 25 years of anecdotal evidence and clinical reports, and is drug free. The protocol is very cost-effective ($5,000/veteran). The return on investment is extremely high in human terms and the results achieved to date indicate a success rate of over 90%.
SRC has partnered with the Blue Angels Foundation since 2017 in their mission to end veteran suicide. Since that time, SRC employees have donated through payroll deductions and Mike and Steve Watt have matched employee contributions dollar-for-dollar a total of $380,000. These donations have enabled over 75 veterans to go through the Blue Angel Foundation’s PTSD protocol.
